Camaro SS: the 396-cu-in version!
Chevrolet’s free-breathing Turbo-Jet 396 V8 just begged to be put into Chevrolet's newest sporting machine,
the Camaro. So we did it.
Camaro’s wide-stance agility coupled with 325 horsepower and 410 pounds/feet of torque makes it the sportingest
setup this side of Corvette.
For show there's the special stripe treatment around the snout. SS emblems, louver-styled hood and a black
rear body panel. For go there's a special suspension including beefier springs and shocks,
special lower ball joints in front, rear axle radius rod and fat red-stripe tires on 14 by 6 wheels.
In the engine room everything from fuel lines to radiator is bigger.
Dual exhausts, too, of course.
And the other news is this: with the 396 engine you can specify the three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic.
It's the one you can shift for yourself, if you want. Yeah! But don’t just sit there reading about it.
Hustle down to your Chevrolet dealer's and look..
